TEK "TnT tek" - Vodka DMT extraction for oral use TEK (super easy!)

The vodka tek recipe for 100g of Mimosa Hostilis:

You need:
- 100g MHRB (mimosa Hostilis Root Bark)
- 1000ml Vodka
- ~100g calcium hydroxide [a.k.a. pickling lime, food lime,slaked lime, Kalkwasser, or simply, lime] (the amount is not exact, it's just an asumption to give an idea of the amount needed)
- coffee grinder
- coffee filter
- 2L jar
- a big syringe (optional)

RECIPE:
1. Grind the most finely you can the MHRB
2. Mix it with the vodka in the jar
3. Wait for couple of hours (you can wait longer, I personally wait couple of days)
4. Filter the MHRB (if you wait it will go at the bottom of the jar and be super easy to filter!). The liquid will be super dark red/purple
5. Pour spoon by spoon, very slowly, a part of the calcium hydroxide into the jar while mixing
6. Wait to see if precipitation occurs, if not you can continue to add the lime and mix
7. When the precipitation occurs a yellow transparent liquid will appears. At this point stop adding lime and wait couple of hours
8. You can now suck all the DMT with the syringe or put all the liquid/paste and filter it! (I perosonally did both, took the more pure liquid I could and then filter the rest to took everthing I could)

Optional: After that you can add more vodka to try to get a bit more of DMT.
Optional 2: You can put water to filtering more easily and try to get more DMT but you will not know this way how pure DMT you get so do it only after getting all the pure DMT you could. Also, this step took a lot of time to filter it well

REDUCTION:
- If you don't want to use alcohol, you can mix it with water. Alcohol will be evaporated before water, so you can stop evaporating once it doesn't smell like alcohol anymore.
- You can reduce your vodka DMT in a bain marie (or you risk burning it). You can use a low boil at first when it has a lot of volume, and switch to bain marie later.
- To be sure the DMT will not precipitate you can put some acid in your preparation (vitamin C, vinegar, lemon juice...)
- It can be evaporated until an oily residue remains.
- You can freeze your preparation to later use (I did some ice cube personally)

Some notes:
- It's better to use food grade calcium hydroxide if you can, I found the cheapest one on etsy. But I ended up using one 94% pure made for agriculture which worked just fine
- Be careful with the calcium hydroxide: it's harsh on the skin, so avoid touching it, or wash your hands thoroughly (don't touch your eyes before doing so!)
[Mod edit: also wear eye protection and a face mask as a matter of course]
- For dosing, consider there is no loss. So if your dose is 5g of MHRB, a preparation made of 100g while be diving by 20
- It's only for oral use, so you need to do take a MAOI if you want it to work
- When I reduced my preparation, it left a residue at the bottom of the pan. I'm not sure of what it was so I throw it away. I'm pretty sure it was not DMT since the potion worked perfectly for me

I'm a newbie in extraction recipe so if I was able to do it everyone can, it was very very easy. The only "negative" point I can see is if someone have a no alcohol rule for security reason.

Wow, thanks for doing the write-up that I've been procrastinating on for somewhat over 2 years!

This method was provisionally dubbed the 'TnT tek', after the youtube channel where I stumbled across the tannin removal method, but also conveniently to stand for "Tincture, no Tannin" as a back-formation.

I hope that it serves you well - be sure to report back with results and observations, positive, neutral, or negative!

Credit is also due to @Sicho Naut, both for helping to inspire the thought processes leading to this method, and for struggling away with my badly-explained version of it during its alpha development phase.

The thing we learnt there is that slow and patient addition of small amounts of lime effects the best results in terms of ease of recovery of the tincture. Rinsing the calcium tannate cake with a bit more vodka helps a lot with alkaloid recovery too.

Furthermore, @blig-blug noted that heating was probably unnecessary (although heating does get the initial extraction done within half an hour), and on that note it's worth mentioning: chilling the MHRB extract in the fridge or, better, the freezer will result in additional precipitate of tannins. Decant or pipette away from that and it should save some amount of lime during the tannin removal step.

Something worth bearing in mrnd is that the neutralisation of the Ca(OH)₂ with any tannins and protonated alkaloids leads to an increase in the water content of the tincture. Chilling in the freezer followed by pipetting off the yellow liquid from the resulting ice crystals proved to be a reasonably convenient way of concentrating the tincture without having to evaporate anything, even if it didn't work as hoped as a method of precipitating any alkaloids.

There may be a couple more observations to follow…

Oh, and do you mind if I add "TnT" to the thread title? Just for the sake of consistency.
