I'm an addict to suffering and actions and thoughts that perpetuate it. I'm trying to quit, but cold turkey is not possible and it's always so tempting. Pretending I'm a victim is seductive, but I'm at most a victim of myself. Hopefully the wheel of depending origination will roll slower and slower as I give it impulse less often.

I'm slowly getting to the other side of the tunnel, so to speak. Thanks for all the support. I feel that I needed it more than some intellectual explanation of what's going on. All that spiritual stuff I was interested in for years is falling off me now like leaves in autumn. Psychedelic medicines are there just to bring you back to your own humanity, ime. It's in mundane day-to-day life that you can find real peace and healing. Sure, for anyone coming from this sick society, there is quite a journey to get there. At this point, I'm extremely tired of plant work and exploring my psyche. Most likely, after this cycle, I'll take a very long pause and restart with some home-grown mushrooms later on.
Each medicine is unique - caapi is not rue, and even each of them is different depending on the region in which it grows. Chaliponga is not chacruna, mimosa, or acacia, and it's certainly not mushrooms. Many who come here are into drugs and substances, but if you really give any plant a chance and form a relationship, it's quite obvious that it's far beyond your old druggy ideas. These plants bring out what's already inside of you and, if you don't resist, can bring you back to yourself. What's after that? I'm just starting to explore it.
Our materialist Western civilization is just one more story on the tapestry of life. The same applies to all philosophies or spiritual traditions. The essence never changes; only stories do. What's that essence? That's the quest for the rest of my life. I have no answers, only a direction to follow. The mystery of life calls to all of us, and someday everyone will try to answer. I'll do my best too and see where it leads.
