Hey Joe Rogan - Shut the F**K up!

Migrated topic.

no, I might respect him more if he wasn't a commentator for a "sport" which consists of beating people to within an inch of their life, figuratively speaking. yeah, way to use your head (in that "sport" ).

I kind of like DMT staying under the radar; last thing we need is a bunch of testosterone-driven
boneheads trying to do stupid human tricks while on DMT.
That first remark you made about mma is so ignorant and retarded, I don't know where to begin. You obviously know NOTHING about mma so maybe you should make stupid comments about it liek that.

coherent sentences, please. you're confusing me

joe is a f'ing tool, and a hero of tools (speaking of tool, maynard keenan is a more responsible advocate of dmt).
a guy who'll call out mencia for stealing material, yet he didn't even credit mckenna.
c'mon, kids...
so fine, he introduced a whole audience of dimwits to dmt, now lets see if they can manage to acquire it without disfiguring themselves or burning down the house like darwin award candidates. I'd put money some roganite will post youtube vids of him and his buddies stumbling all over the place on dmt, like people have done with salvia.
wouldn't have a problem with his publicity stunt if he a) gave credit to the late TM, and b) advocated it more responsibly, and at least differentiated hypotheses from the facts. "yeah, dmt..it's produced by the pineal gland.."
sure, and the pituitary gland pumps out pcp.

I rarely post strong opinions on this board, but i make no apologies on this one.

You sound like a fucking elitist man.
Let me ask you something benzyme, what makes someone worthy of a relationship with DMT?

Aside from a minor typo, s8champs post was easy to understand. He made an extremely good point about your obvious lack of understanding of MMA.

All he said was don't post about things you don't actually have any knowledge of. I've said the same thing to you on a completely different subject.

You say Rogan introduced DMT to dimwits, but in reality you have NO idea what the intelligence level is of people who were turned on to DMT by Rogan. Here you go talking about something you really have no idea about yet again!

Honestly, I'm asking. A THOUSAND?

But I do know for sure that economics is not the ONLY reason it's still illegal at all so he's definitely wrong there. And that's just in the first 5 seconds. I bet I could go through the whole thing and pick it apart bit by bit, based on how much slapdash hyperbole and exagerration and plain erors there are (probably 50/50 with swear words filling in between).

I guess the world needs guys like rogan just as much as the ones critisizing him. I don't think, what some people seem to be afraid of, that organizations such as the DEA are going to give DMT a higher priority because of guys like him.
I think that a guy like T.K.McKenna is more likely to draw such negative attention to the spice, since seen from the perspective of all the 'decent-good-godfearing-christians' of this planet, his views are a bit more radical and 'dangerous', where joe is just a guy who's sense of humor you may or may not like.

Is that really what you got from my post? Or are you just being an asshole?

Why did you completely disregard my question? It was a serious one.
You seem to think DMT is only for "certain" people, and your posts indicate that you believe not everyone is worthy of a relationship with DMT.

That is what makes you a fucking elitist, not speaking out against Rogan. I'm really sorry that was so hard for you to understand.

What a lame thread. No offense to the OP.

My problem with Joe is that while he's hardly an adequate spokesman for DMT, he has the unique position of celebrity that allows him to pose as just that. He is an entertainer, not a spiritual leader nor a scientist nor an altogether creative force for psychedelia. He reaches a broad and impressionable audience that seeks entertainment. In all honesty, he's just an "average joe" who seeks out "extreme" experiences, happened to have a very typical trip and gets to rave about it on the radio.

My problem with MMA is not the violence, but that its chief purpose is entertainment. MMA treats violence as a commodity and stands as a mere symptom of societal decadence (like gladiators of Rome). Violence can be treated with a solemnity and austerity that keeps its integrity as a spiritual venue intact, but when it's commercialized as spectacle, it hardly resembles the violence of martial-monks or otherwise spiritual fighters.

You guys take him too literally. I think that's the problem. Maybe you don't understand some of the nuances of American English. Of course he doesn't mean there are a thousand. That's a common way of saying there are "a lot". People in my area use that saying all the time to mean "a lot". Rogan uses a lot of common American English spoken by the average guy. That's what makes his voice very powerful among the youth. They can relate to him more than a guy like McKenna or Leary who spoke like walking dictionaries.

Exaggerating wildly about scientific facts is not a nuance. Misinformation is not a nuance. Ignorance is not a nuance.

This guy works for the man, whether he knows it or not. I'm not saying he should shut up. I'm saying he should keep what he says to what he knows to be true. Because as it is he's a PR nightmare for DMT, and he's exactly what the authorities need to justify further oppression.

Yes, anyone in the public eye like that should try their best to keep to the facts. Just remember that Leary also wildly exaggerated the benefits of LSD and also said many things that were not completely accurate. But his spreading the "WORD" turned a lot of people into life time psychedelic enthusiasts which was a benefit to mankind. Rogan is doing the same thing but for a different class of people and I applaud him for having to courage to do that.

i think that anybody that seriously researches dmt...BEFORE they do it...has stumbled upon Rogan's interviews and videos and whatnot..and what people are looking for when they research dmt...is shit from people who HAVE DONE IT...now..take Rogan..he is somebody people are comfortable with..because hes a celebrity..you know his face..you know his voice..now imagine somebody that is a public figure..speaking out about the positive sides of dmt..that takes HUGE guts for one..and also he can talk like 'normal' people...have you EVER listened to T. Mckenna talk??!?(wonderful man..seriously)

well if you have listened to him..you know he sounds like a goddamn alien..using words that most people still have no idea what they mean..it makes him sound CRAZY! now here is Rogan..talking like a normal person ..

personally i think you guys are taking all of this way way way to personally..we are all here to do..what we are all here to do...if Rogan is going to be the 'new' spokesperson for DMT..then so be it..are you really so selfish that you would rather it stay a secret so that YOU can keep doing it..instead of it becoming more well known..with many more people getting their eyes opened to it..and POSSIBLY coming under fire from the Man??

seriously..this is something to be SHARED...this is not your personal toy..this is a gift to ALL..and Rogan sees this and is doing something that NONE of you would dare do..so give the man a fucking break and stop being pricks about it

Dude I want to point out that I personally wasn't telling him to shut up, I was just giving some tips on how to be a better spokesperson because he's the only one around as far as I know. And yeah, he's more normal than McKenna, I'm not denying that. But that doesn't make him good. And I'd hope that DMT would make him want to better himself... because if it doesn't, then maybe it isn't any use after all, maybe it is just a hollow recreational high.

And the guy's financially sorted already so what exactly does he really have to fear? Rockstars are all getting loaded on heroin and coke and other class As all the time in America and they don't get touched by the state any more, so why would he?

At least if they try entheogens they have a chance of being unbound western culture. I was a person who was "bound" by western culture. When I first used entheogens I didn't have respect for them

True. I was more or less arguing from a very egocentrical point. I wouldn't care or even ecourage people like joe rogan if it wasn't for law enforcement. In this sense I show submission to authority, which is never a good thing.

This was also kinda my point somewhat earlyer in this thread. If you fear that the 'decent-upright-godfearing-christians' of this world are gonna take on DMT, then it will not be because of guys like rogan, but more the McKenna types who, to many ordinary people would probably sound like a radical hippie-soviet-terrorist. And he's talking about this drug that will turn everybody into faggot-communist-hippies
because of the alien-fairy's you'l see when you're on it.

Hahaha! Goddam faggot-loving-hippy-reds.
Just don't read too much into it if Joe gets brain cancer just like Terrence did, seeing as how people are saying he's into MMA and all. It's not easy on the brain.

It's is not so much that we look up to Joe Rogan. We are disturbed by your prejudice against these dimwits and your superiority complex that you openly display. I find your prejudice to be more or less the equivlant of racism, although it is masked because it is targeted at a social demographic and not a race.

If it werent for Joe rogan I never would have even gave DMT a moments thought. Let alone trying it.
Joe needs to just not say anything else about it to anyone else.

Joe Rogan elaborates more on what he believes about DMT and dreams at minute 108:00 on in another radio show.

For research/objectivity purposes only, the interview is over 4h30 long.

Let me know if that links works, he throws a bit of comedy in there too at minute 30 I believe?
