About that "unknown" large DMT crystal pic from Erowid:

In Trout's notes he names the photographers and says it is from Nick Sand.
Is this verified?
I surely would believe if anyone ever made such a large crystal, it was Nick, with his purity fetish... (which surely isn't a bad thing)

He was busted with like 5 kilos of DMT, so it could be.
I think the geometry of the crystal is just a bit too far off, though.
Maybe that picture is from his police report.

No, it doesn't.

freebase DMT is polymorphic, it has at least two different crystal structures, pure DMT can result in a mixture of the two forms (since form II is metastable) leading to oily goo and also leading to the vast variety of crystallization patterns seen. its a beautiful display of entropy and thermodynamics. This is also the reason why it is difficult to obtain very large monocrystals of freebase DMT (salts not so much). Extremely controlled conditions are required

the 'ultrapure' dmt crystal on erowid doesn't look like either of the polymorphs. To me, it is unmistakably quartz. I am almost certain it's a fake

I did it but it was so small I was NOT impressed. :/ I know 2.22g isn't the biggest but it's the best I could do with what I had. I feel it needs to be at least the size of a dime for this to be worthy of such hype. I did however prove That is in fact possible, very easily done too, just takes patience.

Re-edit: I will not be furthering the scaling up of the size of my current 2.22g mono crystal. I have spent enough money and time into it for now, and maybe one day I can create a bigger version, but as of now I will be taking a long due break of crystallizing technique trial and errors..lol thanks everyone for the patience!

The mono crystal here weighs very little as it is barely the size of a dime...but boom. It's possible. Just wanted it bigger but that's alright. I'll store it forever until it oxidizes at least..

That is correct, you would most definitely see that if you were looking at this in person. I will take a better photo and send it to this platform so I can upload it off of this iPad I'm on. That way, everyone will have a better image to view. I will post it shortly..

Instead of removing the seed in and out and forcing growth, I let one seed evaporate slowly as it was suspended and it grew as one crystal. Then from there, I shave what I want(a square/cube crystal is best) and then re seed into a redissolved dmt saturated naphtha and that allows the new cube-like perfect seedling to format the geometry appropriated with what everyone's requesting of me.

it has nothing to do with faith or doubt, you're merely asking nature to follow YOUR own rules. Nature doesn't care about your rules. Salt crystals will be like salt crystals and sugar crystals will be like sugar crystals. Maybe there is a chance that molecules will spontaneously arrange themselves to look like that, its about the same chance that molecules spontaneously arrange to form a human being. So sure. Its possible. :lol:

It's silly to respond when I've already created a mono crystal proving its possible. Unless however, you are debating with the other person on whether the erowid picture was in fact dmt or Quartz. I believe the picture very well could be dmt, but hey, some say I believe anything is possible
