Tetrahydroharmine (THH) sublingually

26mgs rectal administration
45minutes later 46mgs DMT vaporized.

The THH was overpowering at 26mgs and I had to wait a bit before I felt comfortable vaporizing the DMT. I have never vibrated so much with THH...it was intense.

Was the THH any different than before at that dose? Or was it just more of the same effects (i.e., tingling, euphoria, tranquility, etc.)?

As soon as the THH started to decline a bit I smoked the DMT.

It was very pleasant, the visuals were greatly slowed down and I was able to enjoy them a bit more...HOWEVER, the duration did not increase, at least the breakthrough part, the after effects were stronger than usual and lasted about 30 minutes as opposed to 10. The thing that really got me was how empty it was..there was no meaning behind it, no feelings, it was simply visual candy. I did NOT expect this from a Caapi alkaloid, I really was expecting quite a bit more.

I think for a true Caapi-like effect you need THH combined with harmine in almost equal amounts (slightly more harmine than THH). I know that harmine is quite psychoactive and can induce dreams if you allow yourself to drift off mentally.

Banisteriopsis caapi has a slighlty different chemistry with the same harmala alkaloids present but in different proportions. B. caapi contains between 0.2%-1.3% mixed harmala alkaloids. The major difference between P. harmala and B. caapi, is the levels of harmaline and tetrahydroharmine. In P. harmala, the levels of harmaline are much higer, (which may also explain it's greater MAOI effectiveness) while levels of tetrahydroharmine are absent, or in lesser quantities then B. caapi. The higher levels of tetrahydroharmine in B. caapi may be responsible for the very different subjective effects, and maybe even it's reported "telepathic" inducing qualities observed. When first isolated from B. caapi, the harmala alkaloids were named "telepathine", until further research showed them to be chemically identical to the compounds in P. harmala. Although both plants contain very simmilar alkaloids and both serve as effective MAOI's, it is important to point out that both chemically, and through subjective experiences using them, that they are different.

^^Those are just silly old names and have nothing to do with its effects. Then again SWIM never tried THH so SWIM don't know for real but really if a compound induced telepathy it would be under intense investigation.

I also have plans to predose with some THH before my next Ayahuasca (Caapi+Chaliponga)Journey. Hopefully that alters the experience in a positive way.

I will be doing this again, as it really took all the fear out of the experience. Very mellow and quite pleasant.

the visual candy would be nice to see once in a while
sometimes the earth shattering experiences leave me reeling
(still havent smoked dmt) and i would prefer a pretty picture show before it goes insane with emotional connectivity.

really theres no purpose for this post other than lengthening the thread.

SWIM's are trying THH sublingually plus Hawaiian baby woodrose...plus some peppermint...and later once the stuff has kicked in gonna try some spice to top it all off...


SWIM has also been experimenting with THH and telepathy...and there is something there...its been happening between two people very constantly and consistently...so far only very simple things have been noticed..

it may somehow sync the two people thought patterns or something

so SWIM's had a wonderful day..full of laughter and joy...at the end of the night after a few beers..one SWIM decided to smoke some spice...it turned out to be one of the most beautiful things he has ever seen

he was just expecting to get some sweet visuals...because all other times with HBWR it seems impossible to breakthrough...and he hadnt added any spice to his pipe...just left overs from other journeys..well..it was a breakthrough...and what he saw was a home...with HIS family...and the woman that was there was the girl that was sitting next to him in real life...she looked to be about 10 years older than she is now...and there were a few little children playing behind her...that he knew were his babies...it was amazing

turned out to be an amazing experience...would recommend

...figures! Just as I discover this thread, the THH wellspring seems to have run dry. Hello, all! Just joined, but I've been soaking up info here for a little while. I've attempted to contact the vendor, but their principle domain doesn't seem to be up, and emails to that address are bounced back.

Any info on sourcing would be greatly appreciated - otherwise, I fear my love affair with THH will be over before it's begun. :roll:

Preparation of tetrahydroharmine

The synthesis, of THH was based on a previously reported method (13). Harmaline HCl (500 mg) was added to 50 mL of methanol in a 0°C ice bath. The methanol was acidified by the addition of 4M HCI, and sodium borohydride was slowly added until the solution turned pale yellow and gas was no longer formed. After 30 min, the solution was alkalinized (pH > 10) by the addition of 1N NaOH. The solution was extracted twice with 10 mL of n-butyl chloride, and the solvent was transferred to a 100-mL beaker to evaporate at room temperature. The resulting crude tetrahydroharmine crystals were dissolved in methanol, and 100-µL portions were injected into an Agilent 1100 HPLC (Palo Alto, CA). The instrument consisted of a vacuum degasser, quaternary pump, well-plate autosampler, column compartment, diode-array detector (DAD), and fraction collector. An isocratic mobile phase of 25% acetonitrile, 75% 0.02M ammonium formate was used at a flow rate of 0.8 mL/min. The separation column was a Phenomenex Prodigy-ODS (150 x 4.6 mm, dP = 5 µm) maintained at 35°C. Time-based collections of the tetrahydroharmine peak were made, and fractions were pooled after each injection. Pooled fractions were alkalinized with ammonium hydroxide and extracted into n-butyl chloride. The solvent was evaporated, and the crystals were assayed for purity using the aforementioned HPLC-DAD apparatus. The chromatographic purity of the tetrahydroharmine was 87.4%, and its identity was verified using the full scan mass spectrometry parameters listed herein.

That's simply not doable for SWIM. Flowing visions claims to extract it from caapi, so there must be a way. Otherwise, caapi brews will have to suffice.

^^two above ahah thats the method SWIM was looking for to make THH. Its actually very simple. Don't bother reading all the HPLC junk the rest is very easy.
