The High Diet

Migrated topic.
I feel much better off cutting out roots and tubers/grains and focusing on berries and other fruits with cooked greens instead. Essentially if it’s fairly starchy I will avoid it.

yes i used to not respond very well to starch, but i also realized i could never seem to get to where i wanted to be in terms of state of consciousness without consuming these starches, i think it can feel dysregulating if you don't pair it with something fermented , because seemingly eating large amounts of these starchy foods makes you poop your microbiome out , which is a double edge sword

I have an antigen (hla-b27) that is linked somewhat to negative health consequences when starch is consumed. That probly explains it for me.

im curious about, if you could describe what happens when you start eating starchy foods in terms of what you experience directly ?
for example i had consistent issues digesting any kind of starch for the last 10 years or so , fatigue / brain fog / compromised vagus nerve signaling / inflammation / depression anxiety / acne and lymph issues etc, it was pretty severe if you ask me

but ever since i started eating whole food sources of starch in a hydrated form meaning not bread or cereals crackers etc instead porridge or steamed tubers or whole grain bread thats still fluffy and not dry or pressure cooked and slow cooked beans , combined with something like kimchi at 2.5% salt by weight and dark leafy greens all together in a meal

i've actually had a great harmonizing , prolonged, stable, nourishing and energizing effect from this kind of meal composition as opposed to the utter ruin i experienced eating plain starches sometimes with cooked veg or a protein or something fatty in the past

so im curious what happens to you when you eat cooked starch

Well it’s complicated but I have radiographic axSpA..which just means that there are lesions that show up on my SI joints…leading to bilateral sacroiliitis and bone marrow edema. My right is worse. Then I have IBD/colitis but presenting as the milder form ulcerative colitis.

So when I start eating starches I’m pretty much any form it seems my back gets tight then my right SI joint flares so bad at times I want to scream at night. It’s like being electrocuted at it’s worst. I will be limping around. Then I start to get bloated. Like very bloated to the point where my back hurts more and I can feel my colon flaring. Starch complicates the constipation from the IBD as I almost never have the opposite. Instead I flare for days with irritation that is impossible to ignore and can have a bowel movement like once a week so end up resorting to water enemas. The I also get mild rosacea and some psoriasis but more irritating is some eye issues likely due to iritis.

It’s not only starch. Dairy does it as well and avoiding things doesn’t mean I never flare it just means it happens less and it’s def less intense. With diet I can almost contain the auto immune issues to just the spondylitis in my right SI joint and some low level gut irritation/ sleep issues but it’s enough to live my life, work and surf/ hike around and not hate life.
